“When the seagulls follow the trawler, it is because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea.” – Eric Cantona
The freedom with which words flow from Cantona’s mouth is something each and every footballer to grace the pitch under the name of St. Hilda has tried to implement in their game. This can lead to questionable moments such as the sending off of our previous captain Mr Mills in last year’s cup. However, it has also led to achievements such as runners up in the 2019 futsal cuppers. Although not typically described as one of the biggest colleges in the uni, St Hilda’s football team is soaked in a rich depth of history and boasts former teams such as the infamous Sam Sherr’s army. With big names mentioned still actively involved around the club along with other up and coming stars such as Danny C, the future of St Hilda’s football is very bright and open to players of all ability and experience.
